Giving back

In the past couple of weeks I had the pleasure of working with two amazing organizations that both gave back to our city.

The Institute for Children and Poverty held their national conference that explored the issues facing children and families experiencing poverty and the solutions needed to end homelessness in communities across America. While here they visited 5 of our local homeless shelters and had many discussions on how they can make an even bigger impact on fighting homelessness.

Another group gave back by helping feed many Philadelphia families. They made lasagnas, packed brown bagged lunches for children and filled bags of staple item foods to make things a bit easier in this time of need. They also had fun while in teams of 4 by creating piƱatas that will put smiles on many children’s faces!

It makes me think how lucky I am not only to plan amazing events, but also to be able to plan some of these events for groups that give back and help others.

A Holiday Tradition Continued

Please enjoy some photos from one of our favorite holiday traditions. Our client loves surprising his guests with a unique location each year - this year the central courtyard of Philadelphia's City Hall provided the perfect spot. The event took on a French flare with Moulin Rouge dancers to greet guests at the Ritz Carlton and a French Opera singer serenading guests during cocktails. We are thrilled to have produced this event for three years and always enjoy the collaborative creativity that goes into this event. A snowy night provided a beautiful backdrop once again!

Must Read Books

Earlier I attended The Women's Business Enterprise National Council luncheon downtown. The speaker, Irene Chang Britt had people laughing and thinking outside of the box. Irene is the President of the North American food service branch of Campbell's Soup Company. I, like many of the other audience members, really liked her. She gave us a list of her favorite, must read books. I wanted to share a few of these and am looking forward to my new winter reading list.

  • Lions Don't Need to Roar by Deborah Benton
