Giving back

In the past couple of weeks I had the pleasure of working with two amazing organizations that both gave back to our city.

The Institute for Children and Poverty held their national conference that explored the issues facing children and families experiencing poverty and the solutions needed to end homelessness in communities across America. While here they visited 5 of our local homeless shelters and had many discussions on how they can make an even bigger impact on fighting homelessness.

Another group gave back by helping feed many Philadelphia families. They made lasagnas, packed brown bagged lunches for children and filled bags of staple item foods to make things a bit easier in this time of need. They also had fun while in teams of 4 by creating piñatas that will put smiles on many children’s faces!

It makes me think how lucky I am not only to plan amazing events, but also to be able to plan some of these events for groups that give back and help others.
